Cafe World There are so many great aspects to Café World that make it one of the best social games on the web. Café World offers just about everything that a social gamer could want, from great game play to excellent character customization to a wide variety of dishes to cook. While there are a few areas where it could be a bit better, it is hard to imagine Facebook social gaming without Café World. We’ll take a look at what makes this little free online game so great.

Goal: What’s the point of a game without a goal? Café World has several smaller goals, but the main goal of this cooking game is to cook dishes so that you can level your character and restaurant. You start at level one and move your way up past level 90, cooking, cleaning, decorating, and helping out others. Of course, just like any good Facebook game, Café World offers smaller goals as well, such as seasonal goals, helping others finish goals, and helping neighbors with taste testing. One of the aspects that makes Café World so fun is the different goals that you can strive for. While other social games on Facebook have goals that you have to meet, Café World offers a great array of goals which earns it a 9 out of 10.

Game Play: Café World seems like it would be very simple to play, and it basically is. Gather, cook, serve, repeat – yes, it does get repetitive. But, there are many aspects to the game play in Café World that don’t revolve around just these simple things. From working to earn ribbons (such as spending a certain amount on decorations for your café) to helping friends bake wedding cakes to save a wedding, there are so many other aspects to the game play. Although, there is a little less than you would expect to find in a massively popular social game like Café World, which is one area where the game could be pumped up just a bit. You also have to learn how to use your neighbors and friends to your advantage, such as visiting them to gain extra experience points and coins, and gifting and receiving items to help you in game. Overall, the game play in Café World is excellent, especially since gamers have to strategically cook dishes that will be ready during the times that they will be online. Dishes that are cooked do start to spoil quickly, and if they aren’t saved, the gamer loses their money and the experience points they would have gained for that dish. So, while there is room for improvement with the game play, the overall score that it earns is an 8 out of 10.

Cafe World Graphics: The graphics in Café World are extremely similar to those in other Zynga games, such as FarmVille and YoVille. But, they are a bit more squared and the movements of the people can get a bit buggy at times. One area where the graphics really stand out is in the dishes and decorations for your restaurant. These are great, as there is plenty of detail in the dishes that are cooked – which makes it fun to see the finished dish. There are also excellent details in the decorations that you can purchase for your restaurant, some are even animated which add a great flair to any décor. From medieval themes to drive-thru’s, it’s super easy to customize your restaurant in Café World just how you like it, or change it daily to fit your moods. The graphics in Café World earn a solid 9 out of 10 due to the fact that everything is so detailed and colorful. If only the people weren’t as squared, it would easily earn a 10 out of 10.

Sound: Here is a part of Café World that really should be improved, and soon. The music for Café World is reminicent of some of the first Atari games that came out, where the musical aspect wasn’t something that they worried about. It’s just basically the same few notes over and over again, and it does get extremely old, extremely fast. The sounds are ok, not quite as annoying as the music, but still not something that you would want to sit and listen to all day long. Zynga did a great job with Café World overall, but the sounds and music for the game are just not what you would expect. Overall, the sounds and music for Café World earns only a 4 out of 10. There is just too much room for improvement here.

Cafe World Special Items: Most Facebook games offer some sort of special items to either collect or gift to friends. Zynga games are especially great at the special items, such as all of the different collectibles in FarmVille, so it's natural that Cafe World is no different. In Cafe World, you'll find tons of great collectible items, many are holiday related and many are just neat to collect. You can gift them to friends and collect all of them to create a special look for your restaurant. There are also lotto cards in Cafe World that you can send and scratch to gain cafe points (experience points), coins, dishes, and special décor. There is just so much to Cafe World when it comes to special items, although it could be a bit more like in FarmVille where you can collect items (such as presents or eggs) to trade in for other special items. But, this part of Cafe World gets a solid 9 out of 10 as there are tons of great items to purchase, collect, and use.

Overall, it is not hard to see why Cafe World is one of the most popular social games right now. It offers so much to gamers, and gives them a real-time game to play that they have to use a good strategy to get through and level. It offers great challenges when it comes to building up your cafe and cooking dishes, and it offers you the social aspect as you have to work together with your friends and neighbors to get ahead and get some of the specialty items that you want in your restaurant. Any fan of cooking games should check out Cafe World on Facebook as it's an extremely fun, addicting game that anyone can get into.
