Restaurant CityAny Facebook gamer that is already familiar with Cafe World will be pretty comfortable with playing Restaurant City. The overall game is basically the same, with a few minor differences. Before you head over to check out your cooking skills, let's take a look at what Restaurant City offers gamers, what you can expect, and how it stacks up to other social games out there.

Goal: In Restaurant City, the main goal is to level your restaurant up. To do this, you have to cook, clean, and take care of both your restaurant and your employees. As you go, you'll hit smaller goals, such as buying a certain number of items for your restaurant, owning a certain number of recipes, and so on. These smaller goals will all add to the experience points that you gain as well as give you some nice little coin bonuses. While the goals in just about all of the Facebook social games are the same, gamers that play a lot of the extremely popular games, such as FarmVille, will find that they get a bit bored with the games that don't offer as many goals. Although Restaurant City does offer several smaller goals, it would be nice to see more added in, especially for lower level gamers that are just getting started. So, the goals overall get a 6 out of 10.

Game Play: The game play in Restaurant City is extremely similar to Cafe World with only a couple of differences. One of the good things about this social game is that you don't have to physically choose and make the dishes, the people simply come in and order from your menu and your chefs automatically make the dishes. Your waiter serves them, and your janitor cleans up your cafe. Some gamers might like this better, as it puts your restaurant on automatic and you only have to worry about when your employees need rest. Also, while your employees are resting, your restaurant will be closed so you won't have to worry about the rating for your restaurant going down. Of course, you actually get to hire your friends to work in your restaurant as well, which makes it a great way to socialize and interact with neighbors and friends.

During your game play, you will have to visit friends and neighbors, but one great aspect to Restaurant City is that you can visit anyone's restaurant. This means that you can go to the highest rated restaurants in the game and see how they are doing, and what they are doing that is getting them such high ratings. This will be a great help for those just starting out in Restaurant City to see what other gamers are doing that has gotten their restaurants so high rated. Plus, it earns you money as you visit other people's restaurants and help them with problems. So, when you're low on cash, it's easy to head over to friend's and neighbor's restaurants and help out to earn some more cash. The game play overall in Restaurant City is excellent, and offers you just as much as Cafe World does. It gets a solid 9 out of 10.

Restaurant CityGraphics: The graphics on Restaurant City aren't near as good as they are in Cafe World. The people are more squared off, and the overall detail in all of the different items in the game is softer. For those that like Cafe World, this shouldn't be that big of a turn off for them to play Restaurant City though, as it doesn't drag the game down too much. Although, there is a bit more buggy movements in Restaurant City than you'll find in Cafe World. The good thing about the graphics is that the are cute, and not so squared off that they look bad. Overall, the graphics in Restaurant City get a 7 out of 10.

Sound: Oh the sounds on Restaurant City are no where near what they could be. Of course, most Facebook games have bad music and sounds, Restaurant City is no different. The music is really not that great and the sounds that go along with it aren't either. The developers should put more into this area of the game, but it doesn't drag the whole game down much especially if you normally play with the sounds off to begin with. But, overall the sounds and music on Restaurant City get a 4 out of 10.

Restaurant CitySpecial Items: Here is one area where Restaurant City is trying to keep up with the other popular cooking games, like Cafe World - and they are doing a great job. There are tons of items that you can purchase for your restaurant here, from simple, cheap decorations to expensive special items. One of the things that makes Restaurant City stand out from Cafe World is that while there are just about as many specialty items in both games, Restaurant City offers you a way to grow your own ingredients in your garden. Also, as you log in every day, you get a special ingredient to use in another recipe. This is an excellent addition to this little cooking game, and when you couple this with all of the other special items in Restaurant City, it's easy to see why the special items get a 10 out of 10.

Overall, Restaurant City is a great little cooking game for anyone that wants either a break from Cafe World or is looking for another challenge. As long as you don't mind the few little flaws here and there, this is an excellent little social game that is well worth checking out. Facebook has tons of great games for users to play, and there is a good reason why Restaurant City is getting pretty high marks and millions of players.
