Treasure IsleZynga has some of the most popular social games on Facebook right now, including FarmVille and Cafe World, and it looks like they have another hit on their hands with Treasure Isle. In this treasure hunting game, you'll sail the high seas, search for treasure on tropical isles, and decorate up your own island paradise. But, does Treasure Isle have what it takes to stand up to the other social games and treasure hunting games out there? Let's take a look and see.

Goal: The goal of Treasure Isle is simple: to level up. But, to level up you have to search the different islands on your map for treasure. This gives you several smaller goals to strive for, such as completing all of the islands on your map by searching each square of them, building up your cash for equipment and supplies, and completing the collections that you are to be searching for. Since Treasure Isle is a newer social game from Zynga, the developers should be adding in more goals as the game develops. Let's hope that they follow along the same lines as their other popular games (like FarmVille) and really push the limit on the goals to create a great game play that all gamers will love. Overall, the goals that are in Treasure Isle right now are a 7 out of 10.

Game Play: The overall concept of the game play in Treasure Isle is simple: dig for treasure. But, the developers have thrown in a bunch of smaller aspects of the game to ensure that you cannot just sit and play the game straight through. You have energy that gets depleted a little bit at a time as you dig, normally 5 energy for every plain area you dig in and 7 energy for areas that have plants or trees on them. If you have fruits, you can eat them to help you build your energy back up. As you dig on the islands, you'll find gold and treasure. The gold will allow you to buy items for your island, equipment, and more. The treasure will help you complete collections (such as diamonds or tikis). When you complete an island or a collection, you get a great amount of experience points, gold, and normally a good amount of energy refill (sometimes a complete refill). Also, as you gain a level you'll get an energy refill as well so you can keep on going.

As you dig and gain gold, you can buy items to decorate your personal island as well. From huts to flowers, tiki bars to fishing poles, there are all kinds of different items that you can purchase. There are also a couple of plots on your island where you can grow fruits to help you on your digs and you'll have a blue gem tree to grow these gems as well. You'll need these gems, and other colored gems as well, to get past some obstacles on the islands - like large tiki heads - and finish searching the island. The game play has a great social aspect to it as well, as you can visit friends and neighbors and help out on their islands to gain some extra money and experience. You'll also find treasure boxes there as well that will give you even more gold! Overall, the game play of Treasure Isle gets a 9 out of 10, and it's sure to get better as the game grows.

Treasure Isle Game PlayGraphics: For those familiar with YoVille, the characters in Treasure Isle are the same. You'll have the same choices of character customization that you do there - such as hair cuts and colors, eyes, and noses. But, when it comes to the islands and maps, the graphics are a bit less detailed and more rounded instead. The graphics overall are really bright and fun to look at and it is pretty funny to watch your character dig for treasure. The graphics are just about perfect for this game, they seem to just "fit" together. Most gamers will be happy to see what the developers add in next when they can upgrade their boats and more. Right now, the graphics in Treasure Isle get an 8 out of 10.

Sound: For once, the music and sounds in a social game on Facebook aren't completely terrible! The music is a mix of video game tunes and island funk, which is actually fun to listen to. Unlike other social games out there (even ones from Zynga), Treasure Isle actually put in some good video game music that matches the game and doesn't make you want to instantly turn off the sounds. When it comes to the sound effects of the game, they are pretty well done too. It's cute to hear your character dig and munch fruit when the need it and you can hear the birdies chirping in the background. This is one of the few Facebook games out there that get a good grade on their sounds and music: a 10 out of 10.

Treasure Isle StoreSpecial Items: Since Treasure Isle is a newer Facebook game, there are very few special items so far. In fact, there are very few items period in the store. Let's hope that the developers start to add in more and more items so that this game starts to rival some of Zynga's other great Facebook games out there, like FarmVille and Cafe World. Right now, the special items in the game only get a 5 out of 10, and the small amount of overall items (not just special ones) drags this rating down a bit as well.

Overall, Treasure Isle will be a great game to play on Facebook for gamers of all ages, especially since it's easy to learn and fun. Since Zynga already has some of the most popular games on Facebook right now, let's hope that they continue to grow Treasure Isle and build it up like their other games. If they do, the social aspect of this game will grow as well, since you have to rely on your friends and neighbors to get the items that you need to keep going in Treasure Isle.
