Those that are looking for a massive social game to play that won't require you to fight monsters, get dirty, and instead just sit back and decorate until your heart’s content – YoVille is for you. While there are tons of Facebook games that offer some great action, there aren’t that many that offer a more laid-back way to play. YoVille offers up some superb social game play, and if you haven’t played it, you are sorely missing out. Here is the down low on what you can expect in YoVille on Facebook.
Goal: YoVille offers you a main goal of leveling your character – just like in all of the social games on Facebook. Of course, when you level your character, you unlock tons of great items, living spaces, and more to add to the overall game play. But don’t worry, there are some other smaller goals that you can strive for, and it seems that the developers are adding in more goals all the time. Some of the smaller goals that you can strive for include achievements in your bakery, achievements for purchasing a certain number of items, collecting different specialty items during holidays, and more. While there aren’t quite as many smaller goals as there are in FarmVille, YoVille isn’t far behind. It makes the game play more fun in this extremely social game, and gives you something more to do in YoVille. Overall, the goals in YoVille get a solid 9 out of 10 as they do offer a lot more than other social games out there.
Game Play: There are several different aspects to the game play of YoVille. The main part of the game play is simply decorating your YoVille pad. There are literally thousands of different items that you can purchase to decorate your pad exactly the way you want it – even themed items such as fantasy land, Gothic looks, beach themed, and Alice In Wonderland inspired items. To get these items, you have to have YoVille coins, so you’ll need a job. You have your own shift at the bakery, and you can choose what to bake according to when you will be online. As you bake, you earn coins for your shopping needs. You can also play different games in YoVille that will help gain you more coins or you can always resort to buying them if you wish, along with YoVille cash. While the game play in YoVille isn’t filled with action packed fighting moves, it is extremely fun and can get time consuming as you get higher in levels. There is a lot to do, gifts to send, games to play, and neighbors to visit so you won’t get bored here. YoVille gets a solid 10 out of 10 for the game play.
Graphics: This is another area where YoVille really shines as the graphics really do stand out in this Facebook game from most others out there. While you can easily tell that the characters are cartoons, the items in the game (such as the furniture, plants, and foods) are all extremely realistic. This adds a great bonus to the game play, as it creates a feel that you are creating a real virtual life instead of a cartoon one. As you can see from the screen shots, there are plenty of items in the game, and every one of them are based on real items. The developers did a great job with every item in YoVille, and it only makes the game better. So, the graphics get a solid 10 out of 10 as well.
Sound: Just like a lot of the social games on Facebook, the music on YoVille is corny. Although, it does change a bit with the different areas of the game that you can go into – such as the bakery, your pad, and different shopping areas. It is a nice change to hear different types of sounds throughout the game as well, although they aren’t anything that will really just make the game the best out there. There is a lot of room for improvement with the sounds and music, but overall they get a 7 out of 10.
Special Items: If you love specialty items, then you will also love this aspect of YoVille. There are so many different specialty items that you can purchase and get as gifts in this social game that you will have a hard time trying to figure out where to put them all. There are holiday items, there are specialty gift items, themed items, even specialty homes. It is hard to even fathom just how many specialty items you’ll find in YoVille for your character and your pad. There are even more specialty items in YoVille than FarmVille – so those that love to collect some of these great limited edition items will absolutely love YoVille. This aspect of the game gets another 10 out of 10.
Overall, YoVille is an excellent social game on Facebook. The interaction between your character and friends and neighbors is vital to how well you do in the game and in your virtual life. For anyone looking for a great change of pace when it comes to social games, YoVille is truly a superb social game that everyone – both young and old – will enjoy playing.
