Zoo WorldFor those that love animals, Zoo World is a great way to build up your own collection of your favorite animals and set up a zoo the way that you want it. There are so many things to do in Zoo World that it can be an extremely fun game, especially once you start to really build up your zoo. But is it worth your time to get that far? We'll review the good, the bad, and the funny in Zoo World on Facebook so you can easily tell if it's the type of game that you want to play.

Goal: Just like any social game, the main goal of Zoo World is to level your zoo up. You do this by completing several different achievements (such as placing a certain number of animals in your zoo, hiring a certain number of workers, and so forth), buying animals and other items to place in your zoo, and adding neighbors. Of course, like all of the other social games out there on Facebook, there are tons of smaller goals that you have to complete as well - such as breeding animals, visiting neighbors, collecting special items, and racing animals. While it's easy to get sucked into these smaller goals, there aren't quite as many here in Zoo World as there are in some of the other social games out on Facebook. For some gamers, this might be a good thing, as it's harder to get sidetracked from your main goal. For other gamers, it might be a turn off. Overall, the goals for Zoo World on Facebook get an 8 out of 10 as it can be hard to find where some of the smaller goals are.

Game Play: Game play in Zoo World revolves around several different main aspects: attracting customers to your zoo, buying animals and kiosks and placing them in the zoo, and completing smaller games (such as breeding and racing). The main aspects, buying items and attracting customers, go hand in hand, and you can't attract people without animals and kiosks, but you can't buy them without money. You'll start out with a couple of animals and you can easily start to build more. You must rely on your neighbors (which means you'll need a lot of them) for extra cash, as visiting them brings you $200 each, and you can shake the trees on their zoos for extra cash as well. Also, you can watch your Facebook feeds for Zoo World bonuses, which give you special animals, decorations, and other bonuses that you'll need to get ahead in Zoo World. The main part of the game play is pretty repetitive, although there is now the option to train animals to do tricks, breed animals, and race them - all of which add more to the game play and make it a lot better. It is still an addictive game, even if the game play isn't as fast as other social games on Facebook right now. But, overall, the game play in Zoo World gets a solid 8 out of 10.

Zoo World Game PlayGraphics: Once you get to your zoo in Zoo World, one of the main things you'll notice about the graphics is that they are really cartoonish. The animals all have huge eyes, and are all cute - even the spiders (which I'm not sure how that happened), and the little people that walk around and visit your zoo are all extremely cartoonish. This is a good thing and a bad thing, as the graphics actually are reminiscent of some toddler cartoons out - such as the ones on Nickelodeon. But, they are cute and make the game fun for all ages and you don't have to worry about your children playing this game either. It is a bit of a drawback, as there could be more detail in the game overall, but it does get a solid 7 out of 10 for the graphics.

Sound: The sounds that you'll find in Zoo World aren't much at all and actually really get a low rating. Here is why: as you log in, you'll hear a short burst of animal sounds, then the music starts... and that's it. The music sounds like an old Nintendo game for toddlers, and that is being nice. While it's easy to understand that social gamers are normally playing where they cannot have the sounds on (such as at work), the developers did not put a lot of time into the sounds. But, these are really pretty bad and have too much room for improvement. They only get a 3 out of 10 for this Facebook game, and one would hope that the developers eventually add in something better.

Zoo World StoreSpecial Items: One of the best things about the different Facebook social games is all of the special items - from holiday goodies to unique items that you can purchase from their shops. There are some sweet special edition animals that you can purchase with Wildlife Points in the shop, and some other special items that you can place around your zoo - but nothing like what other Facebook games like FarmVille and Cafe World offer. This is one area where you can see that Zoo World is starting to pick up a bit though, as they are rotating different animals that you can purchase for $0.99 every week or so, and they are also now getting in on the holiday spirit. So, since this area seems to be constantly improving, it gets a 7 out of 10.

Overall, if you're looking for a fun little animal game to play or you're looking for a game that you don't mind letting your kids play, Zoo World is a great one to try out. Those that are looking for a hard core social game to play might be better off with Mafia Wars instead of Zoo World. But, in the long run, the developers of Zoo World seem to be actively trying to make the game better all the time, so it is easy to see it becoming a very popular animal game on Facebook.
